Most beautiful site I've ever seen

Postby kaustin » Thu Jan 27, 2005 8:25 pm

Full moon this morning had the field where I could see without a light. As I rode in to where I was going to set up for the morning, ducks starting turning the sky black. I don't know if they were in there roosting or were feeding by the moonlight, but there had to be 3000-5000 birds. Once I set up they started to return, Pintails that is. Group after group of pintails with a few mallards and teal mixed in. About 10:30 I decided to take a break, get some lunch and return for the afternoon. Riding back in I got up about 500 mallards from the spot I had been hunting. They had come in sometime in between. About 4:15 they all started to return, Pintails and Mallards. Needless to say, this was my best hunt of the year. I found a couple of homeless people to help me kill a few  .

kaustin,
If you want somebody to hunt with you, all you got to do is ask, I need someone to learn from.
