Ya don't want me to come hunt, but you want me to buy a license? I see how it is.

Huge drama !!!!!

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission proposed an amendment to waterfowl hunting regulations today to specify when non-residents can hunt waterfowl on wildlife management areas to specific blocks of dates.

If passed, the proposal would let non-residents hunt waterfowl on WMAs Nov. 17-25, 2018; Dec. 26, 2018-Jan. 6, 2019, and Jan. 19-27, 2019.

Nonresidents still would be required to purchase a 5-day non-resident waterfowl permit, but they would be able to purchase as many permits as they wish to ensure they were able to hunt 30 days during Arkansas’s waterfowl season.

Basically, the state of Arkansas saying, "Hey, buy our license, but you can only come hunt these days on public land."

So I am refusing to hunt in Arkansas so I don't give them any money that they don't seem to want anyway.
It's just me being petty really.

Well MDWFP should send them a little jewel of a reminder that they too need to renew their license for next year and they will be able to hunt turkeys in ms on private or public only on certain dates that we propose. Ha

Agree on the turkeys for dam sure. First time in 18 years straight I haven’t bought an Arkansas license. They can kiss my butt and my money goodbye in the future.

Sheeze?

What’s the hunting like they were last year? Was it unbelievably crowded or was this a dip-squirt move?

Last year was a dry year, therefore all wma’s did not have water first few weeks of season. So to answer your question yes early season last year was overly crowded. Still no reason to do what they are trying to do. On an average morning at the boat ramps I see 80% residents 20% non... they can have it...

May have been just how I hit it, but I saw a fraction of the people last year compared to the year before at a popular WMA and the numbers back that up. Non-resident WMA permits were down 42% from the previous year. So to answer your question, it's getting to be in the "dip-squirt" category.
