I know if I were on the commission I would not have jacked up dove season the way they did this year.

My ideal dove season would be Labor Day weekend until about a week or two before duck season opens. If there’s anything left over you can put it somewhere around Christmas and New Year’s.

Serious question. Does dove season have to have a split twice?

Boggles my mind. Over here in Albania they did something similar. Took the last two weeks of October out. Now we can hunt from the middle of December to the end of January, when I'm chasing everything else in the woods. Whyyyyyy? To their credit, I received a survey asking if I liked the new season setup.

Really? Per my crew at DP, yes he has a cabin over there, but they say they wouldn’t classify him a hunter. Hell Stevie Wonder could kill a deer over there.

I’ve said the same thing for many years. When the whole scatters deal went down, one of them laughed and asked why would anyone get up and be at the ramp at 2 am “just to kill a duck”. Hearing that solidified what I thought of them.

Could be worse. In Arkansas, Stan Jones is on their commission. While having real world duck and land management experience, it certainly creates the possibility of a conflict of interest.

Who owns "banded" waterfowl? I heard a rumor it was Stan.
