Now this should work in any state. Its also by no means location specific, so I figured it’d be ok to post.

Key to hunting public land
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.

I remember 8-10 years ago on a hard freeze we were hunting a public spot. It was somewhat crowded and the ducks were really using a 200 yard stretch if that. There were 3-4 of us hunting. 3 of us took our own boat, got there early and spread out. One on the n end, one the south and one in the middle. All with bright lights. As the other boats would come by wed shine em. They kept going. Right before shooting time we all joined up. Had a great hunt.

Similar situation a while ago. Lots of ducks in a fairly small public area. There were two huntable holes. They were closer together than optimal, but hunting them separately was definitely doable. Two dudes beat us to the parking lot. They tried to claim both spots — one guy in each hole. They were shining us like crazy from both holes. We knew they were together. They rode in on the same 4 wheeler. Only one of them put out decoys. They were trying to pull the old spread out early and join back up at daylight move. Didn’t work on us.mallardchaser wrote:I remember 8-10 years ago on a hard freeze we were hunting a public spot. It was somewhat crowded and the ducks were really using a 200 yard stretch if that.
