Man that’s a risky investment, but I wish them the best. Hopefully they understand their market and customer base and get the product selection and price points correct. With the low margin on most hunting gear it’s just hard for a small store to survive. Even riskier with Academy in Madison now but from what I heard a lot of the crappy employees moved with the store.

Yup it's tough to make it. You need to be like Vans to make it. He got in wayyyyyy before anyone else did on processing and made a killing that allowed him to expand into the retail side slowly and now look at how big he is. Probably largest gun dealer in the state. He can always rely on high profit margins on processing to offset retail. Either way he struck gold. Funny what we pay for deer sausage. Can walk across the road to allens meat market and get same sausage made with Boston butts for almost same price.

Now if they have a gun range that adds another factor since I see several popping up lately. They are on to something especially the one in flowood.lilwhitelie wrote:mshunter77 wrote:Man that’s a risky investment, but I wish them the best.
