Any Cooks Lurking Around Here?
Any Cooks Lurking Around Here?
I finally overcame my fear of dough, I read that it's actually pretty common among cooks because it's not cooking it is a different ball game.
Making my first loaf of sandwich bread made me jump and yell F-YOU wonder bread!
This is a knockoff of Mcguires Pub black Irish honey bread and it is WOW good.

Being able to throw this down in no time is one of the true pleasures and privileges of coastal life.
Cajun style pickled eggs are excellent and I made them with duck eggs too and they are great.
Pizza I'm not a big fan of but making it totally from scratch makes something quite different.

Baked Pompano, blue crabs, grilled corn, homemade french bread and tomato salad.
If you don't like this move to Mars or something. Finally a home made burger bun big enough to handle a man size burger. Fried Whiting is me ole ladies favorite fish.

Re: Any Cooks Lurking Around Here?
We shot so many ducks last year that I got sick of making gumbo and blackening the beasts.
So I started doing other stuff with them, this is home made biscuits, venison, duck and mushrooms.
Made with a stock reduction from the duck for the liquid in the gravy. If you like a BBQ chicken sandwich, then you missed out on this one. Oyster poboy and home made Remoulade sauce, well, kill me now while Im wearing this smile.

Some of my friends who really love boiled bugs.
I like them big around, thinner and attackable and lots of it. That's how to make a damn burger.
From scratch chicken and duck dumplings made with carcass broth.
I don't like big stacked burgers that you can't bite because they are too damn high. I like them big around, thinner and attackable and lots of it. That's how to make a damn burger.

Re: Any Cooks Lurking Around Here?
Me and a buddy ran some crawfish traps this year. I’ve always wanted to try it and admit my yield was not that great but the size of the crawfish were gigantic and it was a lot of fun.
There’s about 10 pounds pictures here washed up and ready to go in the pot. Just right for two.

So sad to see it finally wither away.
I guess I should feel privileged to have lived in the glory days of duckery.
Those days that were so good, that all this artificial garbage sprang up trying to exploit it.
And all these artificial hunters appeared.
And in the process, killed it.
Can't be mad about it, same thing happens in all of life.
Good things, people fk them up, every time.
Just glad to have lived it and to be able to still chuckle at these dumbasses today.
These days I'm on the beach doin my best to see which 20 year old gal I can
get to give me some juicy. You don't win much. Who gives a $#!+......

I can post how I cook gumbo today but even the damn recipe and procedure take a long time to write down and two days minimum to make it. I aint doin dat sh*t for no one or two guys to read. If some people chime in I will go ahead and mansplain how to cook gumbo that will make your friends tell people that you make the best damn gumbo they ever ate because they say that sh*t about mine all the time.
