Guys,
Give me some must do's. We are staying in Ponca, Ar. Not too far to Branson and obviously we will be right on the Buffalo. Kids are 9,5 and 3. Give me some ideas.
Thanks,

Re: Buffalo River Vacation
Next time I'm up that way going to the new BP Museum /Aquarium. But it's in Springfield, Mo.

Mystic Caverns on Hwy 7 Dogpatch but never been in it ?
Onyx Cave Eureka Springs?
Comin back for half day Blanchard Springs Cavern. Kids may be too small. You take 200' elevator down then walk the ramps. The one with 700 steps might need to skip. Cool temps...Amazing.

We used to camp and fish up there. The fishing on your own is different for people like us and its easy to get discouraged. Lots of back roads and little towns to explore up that way along with visitor centers and museums. If you would like a campfire drink, bring it. They don't sell any alcohol up there.

What’s the deal with the fishing Vickers? I was planning to take my middle boy fishing. I turkey hunted up there this year and it seems fairly easy to get to some out of the way spots.

I don’t know, it’s just different. I’ve never been able to get on fish in that river. I could see fish and cast to them all day but never get them to bite. I’ve fly fished the white and Norfork with some success but the Buffalo was different. It’s mainly small mouth and stuff like that. I don’t know if it has trout in it or not these days. I do know the locals were using small broken minnow type baits and Mepps spinners and stuff like that.

Ten4......We gonna go hi tech and bring out the Zebco 33. Honestly as long as he's fishing he doesn't have to be catching, and at 5 years old that blows my mind because at 39 I can't hardly take it if I'm not catching.
