I'm not against the state buying land, that CAN BE a good thing, i just want to know how they are affording this. and please don't make it like that WMA around PG where it cost you over $300 to deer hunt, if you get drawn! yeah that's PUBLIC alright.

If the sale is approved, Pittman-Robertson Funds will reimburse the state for 75% of the total cost.

For those that don't know, Pittman-Robertson is an excise tax on the sale of long guns and ammunition (11%) and pistols (10%).

+1 to NyssaAquatica. Your tax money is safe from the MDWFP using it for wildlife and fisheries management.

I guess the state is finished finding those pesky CWD infested deer now that the sale went through. Funny how that happened.

Scott, do you know if MDWFP plans to add the potential future purchase to an existing WMA or will it be a new stand alone WMA.

I would think adding it to the closest one already there would benefit the dept fiscally by not having to duplicate the infrastructure (area manager, buildings and equipment, etc).
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)
