+1 to NyssaAquatica. Your tax money is safe from the MDWFP using it for wildlife and fisheries management.NyssaAquatica wrote:420 racin wrote:Well I want to know how much this cost me, as a taxpayer they are using my money to buy this land right? I bet it aint cheap either. I want to know how the state, already says they are short on funds for managing what they already have, yet they just want to buy more...with what money??
I'm not against the state buying land, that CAN BE a good thing, i just want to know how they are affording this. and please don't make it like that WMA around PG where it cost you over $300 to deer hunt, if you get drawn! yeah that's PUBLIC alright.
If the sale is approved, Pittman-Robertson Funds will reimburse the state for 75% of the total cost.
For those that don't know, Pittman-Robertson is an excise tax on the sale of long guns and ammunition (11%) and pistols (10%).

Re: Public Land
I guess the state is finished finding those pesky CWD infested deer now that the sale went through. Funny how that happened.
Re: Public Land
Scott, do you know if MDWFP plans to add the potential future purchase to an existing WMA or will it be a new stand alone WMA.

Re: Public Land
I would think adding it to the closest one already there would benefit the dept fiscally by not having to duplicate the infrastructure (area manager, buildings and equipment, etc).peewee wrote:Scott, do you know if MDWFP plans to add the potential future purchase to an existing WMA or will it be a new stand alone WMA.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)
