I don’t have a lot of luck with those oscillating tools on real wood. They’re awesome for drywall. What’s the intended use?

Stang, then you have the wrong blade. There are a plethora of blade options for different applications (wood, metal, drywall, carpet, etc). I have been amazed at the usefulness of this tool in my renovation projects. You are right, it is not as fast as a jam saw with a circ saw blade on it. But it absolutely does the same job, and can do more detailed work that a circular saw blade can not do. Heck, I have taken it to all my old painted shut windows and they are all now functional again.

I personally have the Dewalt linked below (bought it before I started working at Milwaukee Tool) and love it. I bought my father-in-law the M12 Milwaukee version that I linked above and he uses it seemingly nonstop. I have also bought bulk off brand blade from Amazon (linked below) that get the job done. Blade price is probably the biggest drawback to the tool IMO.

I ended up taking Joel up on his suggestion and bought a 4 amp Oscillating tool because I figure I could use it doing more stuff around the house. Cut most of the door faces already and that thing works like a champ

Are you shaving the bottom of trim to make room for thicker flooring material?
