Browning camo citori

Postby hillhunter » Sun Jan 21, 2018 2:14 pm

I thought I would take a shot at this on the general forum if it's ok. I've looked for the unicorn for a couple of years now. No websites have used ones posted in the last couple of years. If any one on here happens to have an old Browning citori in factory camo they would part with, feel free to pm me. Nothing against the cynergy but to me they don't feel the same. I wish I had the money back when they were shortly in production but just didn't. Thanks for any help.

Can you not just get an old Citori that you like and then have it camo dipped?

Thanks. The one and only highlight of the 16/17 season

Have thought about going that route also, just trying to give this one last shot. One reason is that they have a 3.5 inch chamber, which I don't use for duck hunting, but do use for turkeys, so would like to have that option .

Honestly, this is probably the better way to go. Can't say that I was a huge fan of the dura-touch coating when I first got the gun, but I've gotten use to it. It's got a tacky feel to it, almost like tape residue or receivers gloves. And deet is not it's friend. Turkey season in the delta with deet free skeeter spray sucks.

Yea I looked on gun broker and already saw a couple of prospects just to see how many are out there if I wanted to get one dipped.... shouldn't be a problem, might be a good post duck season-pre turkey season project. Haha. Thanks for the input guys.

If there's a gun you want that is only offered with Duratouch, get the gun, carry it straight to Adam Milner at Precision Camo in Grenada, and pay him to remove the Duratouch and get it re-dipped.

Whatever the cost, Duratouch is crap. It turns something that should be able to be handed down to your heirs into an item that will look like crap in 8 years most likely, 20 years without a doubt.

DEET, and a lot of gun oils, will eat Duratouch UP. I was spraying myself down fishing one day, and watched DEET devour the face of my cheap fishing watch. And I am thinking: It eats plastic, and I am spraying this on myself..........:)

I bought one on the classifieds on here a few years ago. I really like it.

I noticed that my heirloom Xtrema is apparently deet-soluble, too, this dove season. Not real happy about it.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know how to protect the rubber inserts on those guns?

yep, my duratouch super nova has some deet wear from turkey/dove seasons, too...just a super nova and still goes boom (really loud) when I pull the trigger, so not really too upset about it. I could understand on the pricier models, though!
I would have it birdsong t-coated, personally, but do understand the camo aspect.
Experience is a freakin' awesome teacher...

Wait, so there is a process to remove the Dura Touch? I'm assuming its just black plastic under there? I would love to do that to a dura touch gun I have.
