Postby 420 racin » Tue Aug 15, 2017 9:26 am

What you guys think about planting soybeans for deer in the food plots? Think they will have enough time if I plant them pretty soon and where can I get some roundup ready soybeans?

Have enough time for what? To make beans, no. They take about 120 days for that. To make green little tasty leaves, yes.

Check some of the local chemical companies. Sanders, Helena, CPS, etc. They usually dump their excess into a hopper bottom at the end of the summer and haul them to the elevator. If you know any of their salesman, you may can work out a deal for market price on them. If not, they are going to want $75-125 a bag for them, or whatever they are running for now.

If you know a local farmer, you may can catch some out of the combine, but i don't think Monsanto will think too highly of you if they get wind of it.
