Which kind, I looked it up and it has a ton of different type paints and acrylics etc.. Looks like it is a Sherwin Williams Product?

Start with self etching primer. That is the key.

I ordered some of the KEM 400 paint, should be here in a few days. But how in the world of all things holy do you get that epoxy/glue off the deck and floor that was put on with the carpet. This is not contact cement. It is brown and hard as a rock, it was under the carpet. I been wire wheeling it with a grinder, but I'm to the point of just buying new sheetmetal and making a new floor and deck rather than devote the time to do that. There has to be a solvent or something that will eat that stuff away. Any ideas?

I'll get some This afternoon Brown. I got the floor out and the font deck torn up and the seat across the back is ripped out. I got some welding to do and then bedliner and paint.

For the record. I tried that hydroturf alternative stuff and weldwood contact cement last year, and by the fact that I am ripping the boat to pieces should tell you all that it didn't work for me, the edges kept peeling up and wouldn't stay down. So I'm going to do the spray in bedliner and paint the whole thing.

We just finished a buddies boat, last year we built a solid aluminum transom and braces, built a jack plate for the motor. This year we extended the front deck and built a aluminum center console and just finished the bedliner and paint on his. My wife said lt looked so good we needed to do our boat......so that's why I'm ding all this..my buddy shamed me into it!

I would try some sort of abrasive disk rather than a wire wheel. An air grinder is ideal. Way back in the day, I did surface prep work for spray-in liner installations. I used a 3M disk, similar to the link below, that actually had some flex in it that worked well on textured, curved, or uneven surfaces. Try a few different types from the local hardware store, and see which one works the best on the carpet glue.

Acetone and a 3500 psi hot water pressure washer has worked well in similar situations for me. It's amazing what high pressure HOT water can do.

Well Brown here are some pics. I used some stuff called Klean Strip Adhesive Remover...and let me tell you,, that stuff will get paint off, glue off, hell it'll get the pope off!

A few before I started and after. I'm not done by any means, but getting ready to start welding some braces in, and mounting the fuel tank under the front deck, etc.. Then comes the spray in bedliner on the inside, then the paint.

Got a little bit done, almost ready to start putting in the spray in bedliner and paint. But I don't have my paint yet (FedEx Sucks) but I got the fuel tank relocated under the front deck and the fill neck installed yesterday. Braces for my new seat welded in (yall gonna love the seat I got) built a big storage box out of 1/4 aluminum plate. Picking up the last bits of metal pieces I need today then hopefully the welding will be done. Paint shodul be early next week if the weather cooperates.
