tss will cost you a crap load. and mr pat i have a couple of friends that have been doing the north american waterfowl collection with 410s using tss yes it is approved nontoxic shot. tss 7's will go through a goose a very long ways away. mind you you better go look to see how much that stuff is a lb

I will stick with my Hevishot Turkey loads....I have never gotten the kinds of patterns
that I get with them. I am confident shooting well past 50 yards with them as well

You're going to be hard-pressed to find anyone to sell you a handloaded shell. There's a few federal laws one would have to overlook.

I figure you're setting me up for a holier than thou argument, but I'll bite. I personally don't think shooting a turkey much further than 50 yards is very sporting. These cats trying to shoot 60-70 yards or better aren't hunting, they are getting close enough to ambush. Much like multiple decoy spreads and sitting in a ground blind(not talking about youths). The sport or art in turkey hunting is getting him close enough to fool him. I may be part of a dying kind, but I have never killed a turkey over a decoy, not one, and never shot over 50 yards. To each his own, but there are a lot of people using these rifled in shot guns as a crutch for their handicap of not knowing how to call or woodsman ship.

I agree with deltadukman 100%, except for a couple of small points. I reluctantly admit that I have killed a few turkeys with decoys, but put them away several years ago. My personal longest acceptable shot is 35 yards.

I witnessed first hand this morning that at 40 yards this TSS that you all speak of does not in fact knock a turkey stone cold dead. Actually saw this bird take flight. Can't release any names of the culprit.
