Look into the Rem 120 Grain HP. Wicked on whitetail.

Lotta folks rave about 120 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips. Word is that they hold together much better than what you'd expect from that bullet, and I've seen cutaways that indeed show a much thicker jacket than other weight ballistic tips. With that said, for my one and only experience, the bullet didn't hold together well. But the deer died quickly.

Im trying to find a load using 120 TTSXs that shoot well now.

Check out 24hourcampfire. Tons and tons of 7-08 fans there. The ballistic tip and ttsx are favorites.

If they make a factory round with the Hornady SST, I would suggest that one. I think they should hold together perfectly at 708 velocities. I use them in my 280 Remington and have no complaints.

SST's kills stuff good!!

and THAT is a duck hunt.

I'm thinking the same thing. i thought i had one and a 25-06 in the corner in my safe....and now can't find the 7-08. I was trying to figure out which one my 10 year old would prefer. It's time for him to move up from the 6.8 spc.

I have several different bullets in the Nosler Ballistic Tips. One of the issues i always found, was that if the bullet didn't hit bone, the bullet would stay together. I didn't get the devastation that everyone talks about.

I killed my second buck with the 120 BTs Friday. Bullet hit the front shoulder and lodged just beneath the skin on the off side. Perfect copper mushroom, and it was one of only a couple deer I've killed that dropped on the spot. The first buck I killed with that bullet, the bullet did not stay together. And if I hit bone, it was only a rib. Go figure.
