I saw this gif and was reminded of a story from The Jakes in which the boys get ducks to land on a frozen pond by throwing blue detergent on the ice. Have any of y'all ever tried that?
That is good stuff.novacaine wrote:Its a good thing they had a flat glide slope instead of straight down in the timber.........that would have hurt.
When i was a young man of around 17 year, i had a wood duck come in hot and missed the only opening in the ice. He slid into my lap at a fast clip................we both crapped our pants!
Never seen this technique used before, but I have seen poly pipe run to the bottom of a frozen field and water run over the top of the ice. Field stays frozen, but the water on top makes it look open. Makes for some interesting retrieves though.NyssaAquatica wrote:I saw this gif and was reminded of a story from The Jakes in which the boys get ducks to land on a frozen pond by throwing blue detergent on the ice.
