Also opening soon, across and down the street (next to the tracks) is Railroad Pizza Company. My college roommate is the owner.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

That's great to hear. One thing I have missed since I moved to Clinton is a good butcher close by. I live on the North side of town so this should be about 10 - 15 minutes or so from the house.

Can't wait to check it out. Should be some good beef. Hoping he carries fresh pork belly to make bacon too. That stuff is hard to find around here.
Re: The Flora Butcher
I'm going to have to go to the butcher just to get the TShirt.

And for those curious about Railroad Pizza Company here's the link.

Re: The Flora Butcher
I sure hope he makes it!! Tough place to make a living. Flora folks talk game, but they will go to wal mart in a minute. I have watched 10 business's in the last 5 years make a run in flora. They all have closed. (Even Radio Shack closed). Bills steak house is the exception, and Madison folks keep him a float. I hope both he and the new pizza place are extremely price sensitive, or your local business support will be severely limited. Flora folks like new, and get all fired up. Then they go back to being cheap.
I will visit next week, and wish both places good luck!

I beat him by $5.00 per lb. and if you order 30 lbs I deliver it to your door direct from our facility in NYC. or if you come by my office I can sell you by the steak.
16 oz ribeys - $20.00
8 oz fillets - $15.00
plus mine are true American / Wagyu cattle from the pacific NW - Wagyu Cattle in the South struggle to grow due to the heat and humidity.
I'm sure his beef is top quality- and its probably fresh. what I sell is frozen. but with todays cryo vac packs you really can't tell the difference.
i'll defiantly make it by there and see what he has, and buy some cuts from him.

Re: The Flora Butcher
We stopped by there last week. Pretty cool shop.
I had a couple of the dry aged wagyu porterhouses. Think they were just shy of $40/lb.
They were phenomenal on the egg.
