Was a dove hunt your first time hunting

I am curious to know how many guys and gals first hunt was during dove season. Or was the first time you took your kids hunting a dove hunt?

No my first hunting memory was a hog hunting camp in Gulf Hammock , Fl. I grew up as a toddler there and remember my Dad take me out at four or five years old riding on his shoulders as he waded through palmetto flats and swamps following the dogs . If or when they bayed he would set me up in a tree and catch or shoot the hog. My first hunt as a shooter was for squirrels.

Yes, and it is one of my favorite memories growing up.

They were building the 4-lane of highway 6 in Oxford right past my neighborhood many, many, moons ago. My Mom went out and bought me a double barreled pop gun that was just like my Daddy's 12 barrel double guage. All the men from the neighborhood went across that old barbed wire fence to hunt doves that opening weekend, and I got to go as well. I tell ya', many a dove was real lucky on that day that dirt clods don't pattern very well from a pop gun, 'cause I was a dead shot with it.

A dove hunt was my first hunt. And a dove hunt was my first hunt to tote my own gun. Funny, cuz I make a dove hunt about every 5 years these days.

Rabbits w/single barrel 410, 2 beagles, Suzy,Elvis. Still hunted squirrels. Always waited till the critter stopped running before shooting. Back then didn't have a clue about deer scrapes, saw rubs.
Doves what's that....circa 1959, 10 yrs old. Back then woodies were protected in Arkie. Ducks way later.

Deer hunting at the Stigall camp down at Delta National back in the late 60's. Camp mostly made up of all my uncles and cousins. First time i every saw tractor tires on vehicle. Muddy is an understatement. Cold as heck, we didnt have good clothes back then.

First time I went to a hunt, probably.
First time I hunted, no. I shot a GWT and went swimming trying to run him down on that first duck hunt.
