Rubber boots
Not going to attack anyone but, the rubber boots i purchased just two years ago had the soles just peel right off during turkey season. I'm looking for Brand recommendations. I don't mind paying for quality. I hunt mainly in the South Florida, Miss., Ala and SC.so i don't think i need heavy insulation.

Must have been Mucks.

Re: Rubber boots
I have been wearing Lacrosse Grange boots turkey hunting for over twenty years and love them. The price is right, too.
Re: Rubber boots
They might have been Lacrosse grange. I just took a pair back to Van's that the heel came off of. One other reason I like dealing with Van's. No questions asked. The lady took them and said she would return them and brought me a brand new pair from the back. I didn't even have to provide my receipt.

I wore mucks, until mine did the same thing. not knocking the boot as they were heavily worn and abused when they finally gave way. I switched to the lacrosse alpha burly, have thick soles, and hold up to brush pretty well.

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day

Re: Rubber boots
They are not Mucks or Lacrosse's, but it sounds like two or three years might be average life expectance. I for now cleaned them off and glued them back with Goop. However I will never trust them again without having a spare pair.
Re: Rubber boots
I've tried just about every brand they got out there and it seems like 3 years is the absolute max I can get out of any of them. I'm kinda tough on em though , use them for every season in some way.
Re: Rubber boots
Lacrosse are bad about the souls coming off. Several of the guys in my old office would maybe get a year before they tore off. Some 3-4 months, but we were doing wetland delineations every week.
My muck wetlands sole peeled up this year. They were probably 6-7 years old. I plan on purchasing another pair.

Re: Rubber boots
Ok, well if 3 years is a good average they went through 3 turkey seasons and 2 waterfowl seasons . They also sat in a hot garage at times that may have been bad on them also. To name the brand now they are Drakes but are probably manufactured by some one else. they were comfortable and warm the only issue was a question of life expectance. Thank you everyone for your input and God Bless.

Re: Rubber boots
Best pair I ever owned as far as durability was the old green lacrosse boots. My mucks have been my favorite pair and considering what I have put them through are holding up well 4 years laters.
Worse pair I ever owned were the lacrosse alpha burly. Sole started to peel in less than 2 years.
