Ok, we've all been talking about the new "Permitless Carry Law" that the great state of Mississippi has. And because of it, I witnessed a bit of an awkward moment on Saturday in Walmart of Clinton. An African American gentleman of questionable appearance was in the store with what appeared to be a very nice pistol securely fastened inside of a heavy duty nylon and Velcro holster. Said holster very securely contained this firearm with broad closures around the slide, trigger guard, ejector port, grip, and hammer (if there was one). The belt clip of this heavy duty holster was loosely hooked into the front pocket of the gentleman's very sagging pants.
Suffice it to say, if a gun fight was to break out in ladies fashion, this dude was gonna lose - simply because he could draw his holster pretty quick - his firearm? Not so much. My thought was that this guy needed a sign which read "Shoot Me First".
My questions for the board are: Do you think we are going to see more of these 'Darwin Nominees' around our communities? and if so, how long will they be around? and what, if anything can we do about these poor people? Bless their hearts.
Thoughts?

I figure we'll see a bunch of "show offs" sporting their piece for everyone to see for a month of so and when they realize that, because of the commitment to working around your gun, it ain't all it's cracked up to be we'll be back to responsible CC'ers and staunch 2nd Amendment carriers.

You're the expert. I just think he was being an idiot.
To be honest, he wasn't exactly hiding it. And if he was intending to hide it, he failed miserably.

Ha.. I was trying to figure out if he was carrying for the first time because of the new law, or what.. But Open Carry has been legal for 126 Years!!!!jacksbuddy wrote:You're the expert. I just think he was being an idiot.

Many people don't realize that you can actually do a lot of training at home with dry fire practice. With the right holster setup (mine costs about $35.00) and a little practice it doesn't take long to get pretty efficient. I created this little video to show my students in class.
