Also don't forget the meth so many parents feed their kids. THAT $#!+ is the modern day gateway drug ...and 5 year olds take it with their fruit loops before school

Your daughter walks up and says, `dad i`m heading to a party with some guys and we are going to smoke weed and get high, ok?` what's your response? `thank you darling for helping create jobs for MS`.........really?
Blinded by money? Find me facts about the negative effects of weed. Couple of medical people have already chimed in on here as well.

As far as my daughter, its just like alcohol... You aren't going to allow drinking when they are 15,16,17, but cmon... an 18 year old, senior in high school is going to drink. You know its happening, just like when they get to college and have a boyfriend / girlfriend... They are going to spend the night at his house and vice versa. It's the way things go, so I would tell her like I would anyone else either weed or alcohol, just don't drive.

Its not like a beer store where you can walk in go to the shelves, grab what weed you want, throw it on the counter and say "Yep, I'm 21!" They ring you up and you're on your way. You get carded when you walk in the door, carded again when you get around to the counter to buy. Everything is behind / under glass and lock. Sure high school kids will get it just like they do alcohol now, but its not like walking in a gas station and buying a 12 pack because the cashier hates his job.

Here is some more info on stuff to read up on since you wanna discredit about the other things I post:

Wow.......it's very apparent people have different expectations of their children. Good-bye morality.....that may 'be the way things go in your house', but not in mine. To each his own.

Nooooo. It altered their personalities. It changed the way they interacted with others. And as a result, they became societal outcasts. The scientific explanations for these changes are stated in a good many peer reviewed textbooks and journals; Including those on such subjects as: mental health, sociology, biology, chemistry, and medicine.
Nobody owes you anything.

Jacks you are right to an extent, no doubt about that. It does cause antisocial behavior.

Sab I think you are correct also

Sky, you should be very careful on that high horse, plenty of god fearing good folks have children that dont go the same way or loose their way.

Here is my outlook, Who are you or anyone else to tell an old man/woman vet, or kid what drug they should use for the debilitating medical issue they have? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????

If helps stop seizures or helps with pain or a combat related issue or simply helps a person eat enough food for them to be able to eat enough to live after chemo treatments, It is none of yours or mine DAAAMMM business what meds they are taking or allowed to take. That should be a god given right, not to be condemned, because some paranoid politician is scared the black man is going to rape all the white women in town or that your little kidos will get their hands on it.

PS. if a kid wants it YOU nor anyone else will keep them from it.

Please explain how setting high expectations for your children is `sitting on a high horse`? Once out of your house it is their decision.......

Why do we need prescriptions for any drug? If the drug helps people deal with their 'problems', just let them buy them without a prescription, legalize ALL drugs that can help 'treat' people........according to Lodi it should be a 'God given right'.......no one is going to abuse it.......yeah, ok.

If any kid wants anything bad enough they will get it, so that argument is a moot point. Just because a 16 year old wants 'some' doesn't mean I am going to drive my son to a brothel......

Are you so blind? really or just want an argument?

Do some research man. There are people moving to opposite side of the continent because its legal. They are not doing this to get a "fix" they are moving out there so their child has less debilitating seizures a day. Some results have been dramatic in that a non functioning child having serious events multiple times a day can be decreased to zero! I dont think that should be yours or my decision.

You as a parent can only do as much as you can do.... whatever man, try to see through all those trees.
