Burning yard

When is the best time to burn? I am in Northeast Ms. The yard not lawn is a old hay field moslty bahia grass. My main goal is removing the thatch that has accumulated over the past years.

Now. But, on behalf of your local fire department, I ask that you pick a day that the wind is calm. To many people let these get away from them and it makes for a long day for us.

Yes please pick a day that is not too windy!! We have(til today) been too busy in Marion with grass fires this past weekend and last week!!
