What If MS Legalized Weed As A Crop?
Re: What If MS Legalized Weed As A Crop?
Bottom line... If our farmers decide to heck with corn, rice, beans and so on then start planting pot... Do ducks like weed? I mean the farmers will turn right to it for the money they would be paid I figure. Which a lot of the smaller farmers will grow overnight then property would go through the roof and so on.
I guess the duck hunter numbers would go down fast in our state and Deer will be walking around stoned and more get hit by cars?
just my thoughts

And THIS, my friend, is why I'm against it. That, and I have seen first hand how that crap can mess with people. No thank you.donia wrote:yeah, but all the "taxes" from liquor, as well as casinos when they were trying to get legalization in the state, was supposed to feed the ms education system beyond its wildest dreams.....but all those dreams got absorbed in the general fund, instead
Nobody owes you anything.

Lord forbid lets create thousands of jobs, free millions of dollars from the legal system, and bring in millions of dollars in revenue and tax dollars. You do realize that farmers are just going to be growing thousands of acres of pot right? Hemp is much different that strains of weed that you smoke. Hemp is what the farmers would be growing. Not anyone can just throw some weed down in a field and start selling it. Businesses have to be registered through the state, and its controlled. Most places in Colorado grow in house.jacksbuddy wrote:And THIS, my friend, is why I'm against it. That, and I have seen first hand how that crap can mess with people. How is that? Its non-addicting, mellow, and helps with certain medical conditions. How did it mess with them? Get fat eating Cheetos?

I want to see hard facts on how this will create jobs and please be sure to account for any jobs it would kill.sab316 wrote:Lord forbid lets create thousands of jobs, free millions of dollars from the legal system, and bring in millions of dollars in revenue and tax dollars.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

Not sure how much y'all know about farming or marijuana but the marijuana people smoke today is grown in doors. And farms can legally grow hemp today.

What jobs would it kill? I can't think of any jobs this would kill.teul2 wrote:I want to see hard facts on how this will create jobs and please be sure to account for any jobs it would kill.sab316 wrote:Lord forbid lets create thousands of jobs, free millions of dollars from the legal system, and bring in millions of dollars in revenue and tax dollars.
You have people growing it, selling it, running stores etc etc. It creates jobs, plain and simple. Farmers can grow it and sell it.

I'm sure that's an unbiased report. Google `gateway` drugs and see how many start with Marijuana and move on to hard drugs such as cocaine and heroin..........
Re: What If MS Legalized Weed As A Crop?
Im sure that many, many more start with alcohol before they move on to marijuana. So by your rationale, you must be in favor of getting rid of the #1 gateway drug...?skywalker wrote:Google `gateway` drugs and see how many start with Marijuana and move on to hard drugs such as cocaine and heroin..........
Also, I work in a hospital and I see people going through detox on a daily basis. Been doing this since 2007. I have seen plenty of meth addicts and an uncountable number of alcohol addicts. I have never seen anyone go through withdrawals from marijuana. Google alcohol withdrawal videos and watch a few on those. Then tell me what the real gateway drug is.
Re: What If MS Legalized Weed As A Crop?
I tried weed once after it was legalized...I now am 136 pounds and don't have a vein left to shoot I'm currently nodding from my insane heroin addiction as I type this...o no here come the baby unicorns chasing me again. Is something burning? O that's just the smell from my brain frying still from it

MJ debates are always the funniest to read through...one side throws 800 facts and the other sounds like Bobby Boucher's mom .

Ahhh I love this. Post multiple reports and facts and you get the "Oh I'm sure that's unbiased!". Can't win for losing I guess.skywalker wrote:I'm sure that's an unbiased report.
Thank you. I always love the "gateway drug" discussion. If you want to start that, then alcohol is the numero uno gateway drug.three11 wrote:Im sure that many, many more start with alcohol before they move on to marijuana. Its an easy decision, legalize it make tons of money, create thousands of jobs, give farmers another source of income, free millions from the legal system... I'm sure Mississippi will be one of the very last to do anything about it though. We'll be a day late and a dollar short...
Re: What If MS Legalized Weed As A Crop?
How many farmers are going to be willing to give all usda benefits as well as crop insurance to grow a crop that is still against federal law?

Re: What If MS Legalized Weed As A Crop?
I don't see farmers growing it because it's grown in warehouses. But then again farmers will do anything right now with price of commodities. I know farmers always poor mouth but they are really hurting this year
