I'm sorry to disagree with you on this Wingman, but it still doesn't hold water in my opinion.Wingman wrote:This happened in front of the Ergon plant. The deer would've had to walk over 2 miles down the port road and then crossed Business 61, obviously full of traffic, to get to dry ground. Google where the Ergon plant is on Haining Road. It is completely surrounded by miles of water right now.
Had it caused an accident, I imagine concerned citizens would be blaming the officer for putting a deer's life over a human's.
You girls need to go back to your cross-stitching. it's supposed to be cold in February, and I'm sure your husbands could use some warm mittens or a stocking cap.
Could the deer have caused an accident? Yes.
Would the deer have caused an accident? Possibly. But not any more so than any other deer we find grazing along every interstate and highway right of way in Mississippi.
So, are you trying to say that game wardens have the obligation to kill anything that may come into contact with traffic right-of-ways? I certainly hope not; seeing as how I enjoy going jogging in the evenings with my buddy Jack. It would upset my mother something terrible if the game warden were to determine that either one of us, or heaven forbid both of us, were a traffic hazard. (Do to me what you will, but if you hurt Jack, my wife will take you to the woodshed.)
Oh, and don't worry about me in February. I have a cap.
