The status of hogs or deer are the least of our worries now. Hell, the ducks might drown.

It should get real interesting on the backwater levee. 2011 crest was 57.1. It was about as close to the top then as it could have been...

If they had any sense they did
But some people do things that will shock you.
They are about to find out if its high enough for this flood event though. Ask that question the 3rd week in January.

You mean public lands?

Q: Can I hunt wild hogs at night in Mississippi?

A: On private lands, wild hogs can be taken year-round with no weapons/caliber restriction at any time of the day or night. However, if you choose to hunt wild hogs at night, be sure to take these precautions:

Actually, I thought it was a FEMA mandate after 2011, that elevation was required, no matter whether flood insurance was purchased, or not.

However, there are several folks in the big clubs, along the river, who did not elevate.

Pretty sure they are going to be screwed, blooed, and tattooed in a few weeks....again!!!.

Seems like I remember an exemption for fishing and hunting "camps" that caused quite the stir in the year following the 2011 flood.

I "heard" there were some bad mudslides on the Ark. side of the levee, east of the Chicot State Park, around the Luna, Ark. area.

What caused the stir was that Coahoma County provided them with an exemption and didn't understand they didn't have the authority. FEMA mandates it in order to be a part of their flood program. Now, Coahoma county can be held responsible and it cost them millions. The only other ones that didn't elevate were ones that the estimates showed they had less than 50% damage. FEMA allows a cumulative damage of 50% (I pretty certain that's the right number.....but not 100% sure). So, if this one gets in and the percentage adds up from last time and this time to over 50% of valuation......they'll have to raise it or demo it. If this flood stays where it is.....it'll still be below where the Base Flood Elevation was prior to the 2011 flood. The final numbers on 2011 was 53.1 ft at Ark. City. It looks like everywhere South of the Arkansas River will get closer to 2011 than the gauges north of there. Seems like the Midwest has been pounded with rain all year.
