Books
I'm looking for a good retriever training book. I have always started out with Water Dog, but you can only get so far with that. I also used Retriever Training for the Duck Hunter, But I want a sho nuff training regimen to use. Travis told me about one about 8 or 9 years ago and I can't remember what it's called. GO!!
Re: Books
I'm guessing he told you either Smartworks or Total Retriever Training by Mike Lardy. For starting puppies, Bill Hillman's stuff is good and also Jackie Mertens.

Re: Books
Smartworks is simple to understand, and normally EvanG is very accessible. Currently, he's offline for a few months on a mission from his church I think. But between his books and video you can get a lot of information.

Re: Books
I prefer Chris Akin Duck Dog Basics. Chris Akin's resume speaks for itself.
