MDWFP Commission Meeting Wednesday @ 2pm

Postby Don Miller » Mon Oct 12, 2015 4:48 pm

6-Mile Lake is on the agenda and I will be there to speak on the matter. If anyone else would like to speak or attend, let me know and I will get you put on the agenda as well. I'm almost 100% positive this matter is dead but I just want to make sure we are heard and nothing crazy happens in Executive Session.

Just curious if anyone knows the status of the weir? Did that die with it?

I'm heading down to Jackson for the Wildlife Commission meeting today. If anyone would like to attend or speak on behalf of the public concerning the Refuge please let me know. Six Mile Lake IS on the agenda and WILL be voted on by the Wildlife Commission.

Did the meeting go as expected?

Thanks.

DM posted on Facebook that the Commission all voted against the refuge. He can give more details since he was there.

That's it in a nutshell. Funny story....After the meeting adjourned I was chatting with one of the commissioners. He says, "Well, I knew something wasn't right when MDWFP had gotten 197 emails in opposition to the refuge and not one for it". He also told me something that blew my mind...there were more phone calls and emails made in opposition to "the Refuge" than the baiting bill.
A big thank you goes out to all that joined the good fight for the sportsmen of this state.

Good to see and visit with SB, Bullet and others.

I had no idea they might even care about public opinion, since I assumed a ton of opposition had been received on the baiting bill. I know I sent mine in on that too. Kind of disappointing to know that stopping that bill might have stood a chance if only a small portion of those opposed had voiced their opposition.

Thank you DM others for keeping this thing front and center. This had a lot more at stake than just 6 Mile.
