Got into a discussion while at a class reunion in Clarksdale about pocket notebooks. Who on here carries one? What do you use it for? How do you keep up with it? etc.
As for me, I use a cheapo pocket notepad and disposable pen for when my planner isn't handy to jot down various notes. Then I'll tape the used sheets into my planner later. It's all part of my EDC.

What he said.
Re: Notebooks
I've got a moleskine notebook in my wallet that I use to jot down to-do lists and notes to remind myself about things. It comes in handy.
Re: Notebooks
Geez guys, get with the times. Still using paper and ink to write stuff? Next thing your gonna tell me is that you still call people from your home on a land line.

Pen and paper doesn't require batteries. Pen and paper requires you to think a little bit before you write (think most internet bad@$$ commenters hiding behind a monitor). And then there's the history factor.JaMak84 wrote:Geez guys, get with the times. Still using paper and ink to write stuff? Daddy's little angel will have a historical record of her Daddy - what he did, what he was thinking, how he lived, etc. Besides that, she will have to go through all of these notebooks once I'm gone to my great reward anyway, just to prevent any possible historical references she doesn't want exposed. (insert maniacal laugh here.)

Geez I must be old. I thought for sure that more on here would carry a notebook with them, even if only for little reminders. The next thing you know, guys will be shunning wristwatches and pocket knives.

Re: Notebooks
I use a notepad to write down everything. Helps me remember if I write it down.
Re: Notebooks
I keep little notepads in the car and on my desk for those moments of inspiration. Alot of what I do involves drawing diagrams and communicating plans. It's quicker to sketch out on paper, photograph, and then share via text message.
Re: Notebooks
I use a little "Write in the Rain" pocket size notebook with the alleged "water proof" paper.

Re: Notebooks
always have the iphone, but I also have a leather portfolio with legal pad i take everywhere, and I carry several of the field notes and keep one in a little leather cover in my hunting bag. I always have pens and paper with me, in the truck, the shop, etc. I write down everything from to do list, calendaring events, drafting plans for a cj5 bumper and winch, remembering hunts, keeping up with the dogs retrieves, etc. As i get older I find more joy in seeing it in ink as opposed to a computer screen.
