Re: Ole Miss v Alabama Prediction Thread
I just can't get over how exciting that game was. It was an ugly game but one of the most exciting I have ever seen. Both teams showed a great will to win and resiliency. There were several times that both teams were in sitituations that a lot of teams would have packed it in but not these two. It's obvious you are going to have a 4 quarter dog fight on your hand when you play either one of these teams. They both have my respect for not giving up and leaving it all on the field.

We're #5 in the coaches poll. How is Auburn still ranked? They are awful....

What I heard on the NCAA stuff...the NCAA did question a bunch of players over an extended period and have been since the 2013 signing class. The ONLY thing they've come up with is an improper benefit from Cannon Motors to Tunsil in form of the a F150 loaner that he kept too long. The value of the extended period is the question, value determining amount of suspension. I've heard 4 games, 6 games, and even the season. 4 games seems to be the predominant assumption.
Neal McCready wrote a good piece that basically called the NCAA "investigation" a witch hunt, detailing that they've been looking for something for 3 years. They've setup up shop in Oxford, they've found nothing on anybody (except women's basketball) but this question about how long Tunsil kept a loaner truck during auto repairs. If you believe it all, it does seem like a witch hunt. Lot of Ole Miss people crying for university to lawyer up and tell the NCAA to stick it...
The yellow convertible sports car (i never read it was a Corvette or any make/model specifically) from summer has NOTHING to do with the NCAA crap going on now....that was a friends car that the boot lip stepdad tried to say was an agents car that Tunsil was driving. That whole story from summer went out the window with the stepdad's credibility on court when he "defended himself" and made it clear what was going on there.

Crazy game. The better team won Saturday night. I give credit for OM playing not to lose there in the 4th and for playing a physical game.
Having my doubts about the lane train now. He's gone rogue. Saban needs to straighten him out....he's the CEO.

Bama showed a lot of grit and poise, playing their guts out in the 4th with fans bailing out. Two good teams slug it out, Rebs ended up on top. Heckuva game, doubt either coach wants a rematch any time soon.
I think if Henry had had fresh legs in the 4th quarter, the Rebs would have been in trouble.

Re: Ole Miss v Alabama Prediction Thread
Ole Miss is the best team in the country. I knew they would win and I thought to would win convincingly. They are the odds on favorite to win the SEC and I think will make a strong run at a national title.
As to Alabama, I think they are on the downward slide of Saban's tenure. They are still elite and have elite talent, but they do not have the same aura they did from 2010-2012, or so. Saban looks tired too.
OM looked more talented IMO. I think a portion of the four consecutive recruiting national title that Bama has on the roster is over-inflation of star ratings because they committed to Bama. I think the "Bama bump" has led us to believe they are more talented than they are in reality.
Moving forward, I don't see anyone that can beat OM on their remaining schedule. I see two or three that can beat Bama, UGA being the most obvious.

Not sure Ole Miss is best in country, but I do think they are in that category...Ole Miss could easily lose to TAMU, LSU, or MSU....They shouldn't lose to TAMU or LSU at home if they are championship caliber, and they shouldn't lose to MSU b/c they are deeper and more talented team...but shouldn't doesn't mean won't.Deltamud77 wrote:Ole Miss is the best team in the country. They shouldn't have lost to LSU or Arkansas last season, but they did and got out played start to finish both games!

Ole Miss gets a stout double shot of reality this weekend.
GH22, Welcome to a new reality.

I rather enjoyed my double shot, and would like another.

Congrats Rebels I think you guys have a great shot at reaching Atlanta this year but I also think who ever comes out of the West will have 1 lose. I also believe that the Egg Bowl will be as big this year as last, maybe even more. You guys have play makers at every skill position and your defense super talented. The only thing that noticed that could hurt you and will once you get into conference play is getting banged up on defense. The second long touchdown turned Alabama back into a throwing team if they could have kept it on the ground the result might have been different. Congrats you guys made the plays to win, I also believe Coach Freeze should considered as one of the best coaches in the Country. He seems one step a head of who ever he is playing and he will try to win not hang on. It is always nice to see a person give credit to God, he has always been a good example for everyone to follow.
