50-75,000 birds in one spot and I can't kill a one

We have it on video from the airplane. I think every bird in the county must be in this one spot...mallards, pintails, divers..geese..all on private property. That same place I mentioned when I said "once a duckhole, always a duckhole". Frustrates the tar out of me when I can't even get a pair of mallards to work my decoys and all those birds are sitting within 5 miles of any one of my blinds. Dangit.

I know the feeling. But i don't have those kind of numbers over here but i can't get a bird to do anything. I see them working the same hole every morning but i can not get everything together to get there. Wingman isn't the water going down down there I heard it was dropping pretty good? Do you think when they drop the watersheds that it will come back up and we will be in the same shape?

I thinky these thangs have evolved. Same patterns we been seeing. However, the gads & shovelheads still love a hole in the ice! Only mallards killed last few days by us, where flying point with lil ducks, and surgically extracted.... Big ducks flying everywhere now, but SPOOOOOOKKKKKKKIIIIEEEE. Dont blow dat call, lessin you want to see their rear end. Dat, dat, dat on the call, and some whistling on the whistle, bout all they will take. But when the gads come, they come HARD, be ready for that first pass, itll be a lil target, wif dem wings pulled in tight and sliding across the spread. Most of time, wont get another pass.
Beans been better than rice, but that will change now we thawed.
Seen 250 ducks standing on ice the other day, in a single file line like penguins at zoo. Dat sucks.

I was thinkin' wing mounted punt guns. Or..take a hacksaw to the baggage compartment and install a rear gunner. The trick is who can I trust to be the rear gunner without shooting my rudder off? Or maybe a 25 lb. incendiary bomb.

hey wingman, going to try to take pictures on the hole noangel was talking about. We have the same setup about 2 miles away and can't get a shovler to work. at around 5:00 every afternoon these ducks pour in from all directions. Thursday afternoon was within 200 yards of the hole and it sounded like running water. Sooo many ducks splashing in the water it was really unreal. But still can't figure out why they would hit this milo field instead of ours. I am begining to wonder in he has something other than milo out there. Could be a lot of swine feed, if you know what I,m talking about. Anyway good luck for the rest of the season.

You shoot I'll fly, but you might want to wear a parachute, If I see all those birds I might just faint with excitement.

Wonder what kinda pattern and velocity you could get if you dropped about 50 lbs. of #2 shot from about 2/3,000 feet? It would be kinda like a "Puff the Magic Dragon" gunship! Is there a limit on ducks killed without a gun if they just "happen" to be in the way when you drop something out of your plane? Heck, we could even scrap up a wheelbarrow full of old bricks!

5 gallon buckets of pea-gravel is the way to go. At 120 miles an hour, pea-gravel is deadly.
