Guy dies with 1200 guns in his house

Postby duramax » Tue Jul 21, 2015 9:14 am

Apparently no foul play involved and he just died of natural causes. But what I want to know is why I wasn't left in the will!?!? Some of those guns are badarse and they are about to get destroyed by the govt!

"It's not a crime to have a large number of weapons so long as they were legal to own and legally obtained," Smith added. "We want to make sure that's the case."
Why bother making sure at this point ? How about go catch some real criminals instead of blowing millions investigating a dead man?

That would make too much sense.

Why destroy them? I guess they will pull the "it's not legal to have THIS gun in CA" BS. There are some heirs somewhere getting screwed by the state of CA right now.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

I don't know for sure that they are getting destroyed. I just assumed since it appears that he doesn't have a family since he was found partly decomposed since he'd been dead for a while. I don't know what the law states for procedure in a case (just a question, I have no idea on this situation) where a person has a guns and dies without a will and doesn't have siblings, a spouse, or children. I know with other items, they are put in limbo until the rightful heir can be determined. I imagine that would be the case here as well. Though it's CA, and they could easily pin this guy with the smallest of crimes and use it as justification to seize all the guns. If I was related to this guy in any way, I'd hire a lawyer to demand they be given to me pronto. Conservatively, 1,200 guns is worth over $100k. It would be no different if the guy had a vintage Porsche in the barn. Money is money, no matter what form it's in as long as it is procured and possessed legally. Keep a few dozen of the nice ones and run the rest through an auction.

1,200 gun plus that much ammo could easily top a million dollars. That is about $800.00 per gun (not counting ammo) And all that stashed in what appears to be a run down townhome might be a little suspicious... :D :D :D :D :D
