Was the first article that referenced Beaver Dam, and the railroad being built from Memphis to New Orleans, in 1884 as well?

Three miles from my doorstep. Hearing a quail in these parts nowadays is an every-other-year event, sadly.

I'd have to double check for the exact date, sorry I didn't include that. But I only looked at two volumes today, so it will have to be between 07-1884 and 07-1885.

I can't remember the exact name of the railroad.........Yazoo & Mississippi Valley Railroad i think...........
They were the entity pushing for the upper Mississippi River levee after the 1882 flood...........they purchased the majority of the bonds to get the levee built beginning in 1884.
