Take a drive out to LA, or to Texas, or any other southwestern border State. The ones the government want to keep are these.... because they know they will most likely vote to keep all their benefits they never paid taxes towards.... why do you think the Dems are screaming amnesty so loud?sab316 wrote:Mexicans are the ONLY people that want to work. We've been through SIX white guys since February. SIX. They've just left, not shown up, lied about us and our company, bad mouthed us. Ever had a problem from an amigo? Nope. One kid, didn't finish 11th grade, had 3 kids, living with momma, and made $700+ after taxes one week. Proceeded to not show up (after we've given him a few chances) then is telling everyone we got in his face and cussed him (never even had a stern talking with him) and we weren't going to work him in like a N*****.
They are the only people willing to do the dirty work, farming, landscaping, etc. Kick them out, nothing will be getting done.
If they are a criminal, yep send them back, please. But the ones we've experienced (and have working for us) are all stand-up guys and I would take them over a white or black guy anyday.
As far as farm labor, which always seems to creep into this topic, there are already programs which allow immigrant workers in LEGALLY, they work until the crop is in or out and then get a bus ticket home, where they are accounted for at the border. Other seasonal businesses have access to theses programs, but its mainly promoted in the Ag business. Most all of your bigger farms are already on these programs due to the Wage and Hour assholes constantly showing up to audit them every other year. Small ones, some are, some aren't.
One thing I will agree on you with is that the US labor pool is generally lazy and unmotivated. Everyone seems too good to work a shovel or lay brick these days.... not saying there arent exceptions but our labor force sucks.
Y'all are both correct.. I spend the first 24 years of my life just 3 hours from the border.. There have been illegals streaming across the border for as long as I remember.. Every hunting camp or cabin that I have ever been a part of down there has had illegal immigrants break into it.. Some of them multiple times. I remember one afternoon when I was about 12 on a guided hunt near Laredo riding around in the truck with the guide and have a couple of different groups or immigrants run up to the truck and ask for directions.. Later on that night I sat on the upper deck of the camp house and looked over the landscape and saw about 8 - 10 campfires in the brush and the guide telling us those are all groups of illegal immigrants that just made it over the border... In college on our trips to South Padre we would regularly see van pull over on the side of the road and fling open the doors and 4-5 Mexicans jump our and run into the brush on the King Ranch.. Then a few minutes later we would see a border patrol truck with about 6 or so horses in a trailer unloading and heading South towards the border to round any illegals up.. So the immigration problem has always been a big deal...
But the people that were coming across the border were for the most part good hardworking men that were trying to make a living and sending most of the money back across the border to support their families. Those that did break into our hunting camps only took food and water and sleep.. Several times we had forgotten firearms in the camp and they never touched those... The illegal immigration got so bad at times that we would leave the camper open just to keep them from breaking the window and started leaving boxes of food and water for them..
The majority of these people would work hard and sent back money to their families and would do their best to assimilate into our culture, learn the language and obey the laws.
Today a larger and larger portion of the illegals coming across are looking for the easy way or are involved in drug running.. My mom lives on a large ranch in Tx and at least a couple times a year they have drug runners that are being chased by DEA or Border Patrol come onto the ranch and they have to go into lockdown in the home until they are caught or chased off the property.. More and more of the people that come across are whole families. Not just Father, Mother and kids, but brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, etc.. They tend to have less work ethics and want more handouts.. My hometown is or was called "The Sparkling City by the Sea" but it is slowly turning into a semi third world city with trash all around and a culture that doesn't look like what I knew growing up.
Now before you go off calling me a racist, because I actually had a former church member call me this when I had this same discussion with him.. I will have you know that I have many Hispanic relatives both by marriage and by blood and most of them feel the same way..
The problem with most folks around the country that don't live in border states or even close to a border state they see what I see when I was a kid.. A few of the hardworking illegal immigrants working hard to support their families.. They don't see what is happening to the border cities and states as more and more of the illegals are coming looking for handouts.. When I moved to MS in 1996 there I saw very few Hispanics people here in the state and over the last 20 years the population has grown and I have seen more and more "family groups" that gather in their own areas and do not assimilate into our culture.. In another 20 years it will be worse..
Close the border, make it easy for those looking for work to support their families to get Visas to work here and enforce the current laws on the books!!!! Any illegal involved in criminal activity should be immediately deported.. If they come back a mandatory 5 years in prison and then deported again.
