Well I've got a buddy headed to Miss State on a full ride scholarship with out of state tuition waved. Where there is a will, there is a way.NUTMEG wrote:I can tell you that a Kid at Ole Miss with a 26 act and 3.9 GPA in high school will not have tuiton covered by Mississippi scholarships.
I damn near had mine covered with scholarships at State, but 3 D's during summer school after turning 21 killed that. Ended up with $10K in students loans because of it. There are plenty of scholarships available to students. You just have to do your research and apply for them. The university isn't going to openly make you aware of such. They want you paying the $$$ directly to them.

Sure there are exceptions to the rule but it certainly isn't the norm.......money is NOWHERE near available in MS and AL as it is in "Lottery States".....not even close.Greenhead22 wrote:Well I've got a buddy headed to Miss State on a full ride scholarship with out of state tuition waved. GH22 I have a wife that is a high school teacher and 2 kids at Ole Miss. WE know where to look for scholarships. I have 1 child with a 29 act and her school is paid for. The other with a 26 is getting about $2,750 per semester. Income and several other factors go into getting a full ride but I can tell you what Mtag, Miss scholars and academic excellence pays and unless you have a 29 on your act, the cost is not covered at Ole Miss. State also waives or gives scholarships to children of graduates plus huge amounts for out of state people thru academic excellence.
