I was hoping someone kept better records me.

I am trying to find our season lengths and point values from 1979 through the end our point system.

I remember one year MS opted for an extra mallard over extra days but all my old regs are packed up in storage and I have not been able to locate them.

Any help from any year would be great.

88-89 season

Snowed on Friday night duckmas Eve and we hammered ducks I. The woods for a solid week. Have one group of mallards numbering north of 1000 we killed 26 in one volley. We still watch that old vhs video we shot ever year of that opening weekend.

One of the most interesting (and controversial) reg. changes was adjustment of shooting hours to official sunrise.

This was done to help the Black Duck population - i.e. supposedly putting more light on the birds so Black Ducks could be distinguished from Suzies.

It lasted one year.......and I'm not sure WHAT year.....but in the early 90's sometime, I believe.

It was pure torture to have all those flights hit you at first light, swim around in your decoys, and flush when they realized they were in the midst of 'fakes'.

Tough year! 'Just had to stick it out and trust birds to come-in later in the morning. I didn't even SEE a Black Duck in all that.

Anybody else here old enough to remember that?........('course when I started, you could kill 8 pintails).

My records show that the first yr that you had to shot at sunup was Dec, 10 1988 ( 88-89 Season- 3 duck limit)

I remember that sunup year very well. We had a good season, and with a limit of only three ducks, we often slept late and hunted midday.
