The Obama Doctrine

Postby Seymore » Mon Apr 06, 2015 7:34 am

Reading Obama's comments about Iran and other countries that has now been dubbed “The Obama Doctrine” It's basic premise is that the US is so stronger militarily that countries like Iran and Cuba know that can't “win”. He compared the military budgets of the US at $600B to Iran's $30B. He further added that he would not allow anyone to “mess” with Israel. So hears the thing, Iran doesn't have to win. All they have to do is get a chemical or dirty bomb into this country and the resulting economic damage would be severe. Detonate one of those on Wall Street one busy mid week day and see what happens and $30B is more than enough to accomplish that. Getting it here isn't a big deal either considering how porous our borders are. Israel I am sure feel just all warm and fuzzy this morning knowing that Obama has “got their back” and want let anybody “mess” with them. I don't think the next election can get here fast enough. Obama is a lame duck but he's probably the most dangerous lame duck in history.

One could argue that Obama has switched this country's allegiance from Israel to Iran. It is quite head scratching until you realize that Obama's chief advisor, Valerie Jarrett, is from Iran. Things come into more focus at that point.

One can also see, quite clearly actually, that Obama has always viewed foreign policy as a nuisance. His real goal is as he has always stated, to fundamentally change the United States - he has done that with a complicit media at his side.

Think about this - under Obama:
(1) the IRS has targeting conservative groups and not one person has even be fired form the IRS;
(2) the person overseeing this targeting, Louise Lerner, is in contempt of Congress and the Justice Department refuses to prosecute;
(3) The Attorney General has been in contempt of Congress for three years based on the Fast and Furious investigation and nothing has been done;
(4) race relations have deteriorated to their worst state since the 1960s;
(5) your health care is essentially completely run by the government;
(6) we know that basically everything you type and say on an electronic device is recorded by the government (NSA);
(7) we know that the DHS considered Christians, Conservatives, gun owners and military veterans to be potential terrorists;
(8) gays are given more support in the media and through our WH than Christians;
(9) Obama has compared ISIS to Christians by way of comparison to pre-reformation crusades;
(10) Obama traded 5 of our top prisoners for Bo Bergdahl, a known deserter and convert to Islam - and then charges him with desertion;
(11) Obama has effectively granted amnesty via executive order and have effectively stopped policing the border with Mexico.

We could go on and on.

Obama's doctrine is to turn this nation into a European democracy - not a representative republic. It get's better as he will effectively hand pick his successor, who will likely be Elizabeth Warren, a female to the left of him on virtually every issue.

We are done.

I had no idea Valerie Jarrett was from Iran. I know she goes way back with the Obama's and was involved with Michele Obama very closely.

I have to admit, I did laugh out loud when I first heard the term "the Obama Doctrine!" I think it must be something like "the China Syndrome!"
More like the Obama Debacle!

Obama needs Congress to implement his doctrine. The current sanctions in place against Iran were put in place by Congress. Only Congress can remove the sanctions. Obama does not have the power or authority to remove the sanctions unilaterally, White House spokesman, Josh Earnest admitted as much today in a press conference.

Obama is a very shrewd politician. This could be part of a strategy to keep the GOP fractured and on the defense. Look at the chaotic republican reaction to Cuba, Iran, etc. Every time he acts, he stimulates divisive infighting and name-calling, be it Chamber of Commerce vs populists, war-hawks vs. isolationists, or conservative vs. socially liberal, etc. What's worse is that they are reacting to nothing. He hasn't actually implemented much. Most of it won't hold up in court. So he has the benefit of proposing an alternative without actually owning the results. Its win-win for him. Over the other hand, the GOP has capitulated on several major issues and this congress has not made any real legislative accomplishments. It has not addressed illegal immigration, Obamacare, IRS corruptions, Benghazi, entitlement spending, or any other items that middle-class conservatives want.

Hillary stands at least a 50/50 chance of winning the presidency. If Obama can demonstrate that congress doesn't get anything done, then democrats might be able to flip control back in their favor, keeping them the executive branch and gaining congress in 2016.

As I write this, I realize that if this is part of a strategy, it is working quite well.

I think the majority of what you said is spot on. This is all about divide and conquer. In that sense, because of a complicit media, Obama is arguably the most effective president since FDR at implementing his agenda. His legacy will reflect that he did indeed 'fundamentally transform America".

The only thing I disagree with about your post is that Hillary has a 50/50 shot at winning the presidency. I don't personally believe she has much of a shot at all. My reason is this - Obama hates the Clintons and therefore there is no way he hands the keys to the castle to her when he leaves office.

It is speculated that Obama's people are the ones that continue to leak information about Clinton periodically, such as the info about her email, which was originally reported by the NYTs. Bill's island hopping adventure was originally reported by the HuffPo. However, Obama and Clinton during the firestorm over her email and the news reports stopped almost over night on that controversy. I honestly think it was Obama flexing his muscle and likely strong-arming the Clintons on something.

Obama has an amazingly effective campaign machine that is waiting in the wings for someone. I personally think that Obama will give his endorsement and machine to Elizabeth Warren and she will tab Cory Booker as her running mate. She will be the next president.

Lastly, I would not put a whole lot of energy into the 2016 presidential race if the are a republican or conservative. Mathematically, there is almost no chance a GOPer can win the office of the presidency anymore under the electoral college format. The demographics in key states have changed too much. Conservatives need to focus their energy on preserving the majority in Congress and holding on to governor's seats in states.
