There is a link in this article that will pull up a PDF file that has the full notice. It's only 79 pages long, so just some lite reading.DanP wrote:http://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/rulemaking/media/021515_sUAS_Summary.pdf

Binocs? That is what the scope is for.

It won't take long for someone to figure out how to put that thing inside a duck decoy for the ultimate motion decoy that flies. But it might be hard to shoot while operating the flying duck decoy.

Most of the drones, that would be able to handle something that size, usually come with a hover in place function or can be set to fly a specific route unattended.Po Monkey Lounger wrote:It won't take long for someone to figure out how to put that thing inside a duck decoy for the ultimate motion decoy that flies. Re: Drones
The ones that got busted in Arkansas about 15 years ago actually got off pretty light. We have a friend that was there the day shooting the day they got busted. He only paid about 200 in fines. The most common ticket written that day other than the rallying ticket was lead shot. They were shooting so much and so close, everybody was shooting dove loads. They said the next ones to get caught were gonna be the ones to get hammered because they were editing/changing the laws to close the loopholes they got away with. My dad has a copy of the tape.teul2 wrote:Nope. Heard of a guy herding snows with an RC plane. Feds tore him up.Denduke wrote:Hearding Ducks legal? A man after Po Monks heart.Po Monkey Lounger wrote:Any drone that flies over my property within my legal airspace will be shot down if I see it. Generally, anything flying below 500 ft ( Feds have declared area above 500 ft as part of public airways) would be fair game. And since drones cannot be flown above 500 feet, they are trespassing when over private lands and a legitimate target.
I am developing/acquiring some anti-drone weapons --- 1) an unplugged 10 GA Browning shotgun with 30 inch barrel, extended range choke, with extended magazine, shooting 3 1/2 inch coyote shot; 2) a small laser with surprising range that can burn a hole through small objects, mounted on a shotgun or rifle barrel; 3) a 22cal Ruger rifle with scope and high capacity magazine; and 4) considering getting my own drone and arming it to be able to shoot down other drones.
Drone hunting will make a great off season sport. Open all year with no bag limits.
So you drone boys gear up. And us drone hunters will do the same.
Let the drone wars begin. Looking forward to the action.
