Check Marsh Masters in Leeville, LA. Or Team Lafite in Lafite, LA. Only guides I've used and those were for bachelor parties. All other times we fish Leeville ourselves. Shouldn't go wrong with either of these two.

One think to keep in mind. I did not enjoy catching reds as much as I did catching specks. Catching a nice red is about like throwing a car tire in the water and trying to reel it in. Those jokers are strong and they will wear you out. Getting on a good speck bite is the most fun I have ever had fishing. Just something to think about when booking the trip.

Ill also throw a plug in for CJ Rojas in Lafitte....Awesome guy and straight knows how to fish. He is hooked up with a guy down there that has some houses on the water that he rents out very reasonable as well. 504-416-0094

If you are wanting to go out of Ms, I can help you out. I run trips out of Pass Christian, locally and to the La. marsh for trout and redfish. If interested, give me a shout.

personally I prefer reeling in the car tires. To each his own I reckon.

The guide is going to put you on whatever is biting because customers that are catching are usually happy. In general you can always find red fish biting. Just let the guide know that you don't want to spend all day catching limits of 12" specs. Chances of going out and loading the box with 2 lbs and up specs that will give a decent fight is rare these days. You can generally go out any given day and find 20" and up reds that will give a nice fight on med/light tackle. If you are talking bull reds in particular thats a different game. They will wear you out quick but catching them can be more seasonal.

Re: planning a red fishing trip and need some help
Getting a guide will guarantee fish for the most part but you won't come out "cheap" most guides are $600/3 people or more these days.
However while that may seem like a lot of money you aren't going to be looking for fish they will put you on them. It may be worth it. That being said fishing for redfish is pretty easy if you have a decent size aluminum boat for duck hunting WITH a trolling motor you can fish the marsh and find fish.
If you haven't done it before I would recommend a guide. If you want to go to Venice I can recommend several.

I would suggest closer to either Venice or DuLarge. Check around to see when is the best time of year for clear water. Whole lot more fun to me to be able to see them and cast to them. If the water is dirty its like bass fishing. That is just my thoughts. It can be some of the most fun you ever had standing up!

I second this. We use CJ all the time. First class operation!

Re: planning a red fishing trip and need some help
I'm not going to recommend anyone specific, but there are quite a few guides in shell beach that will put you on 100 specks and 20 reds with good regularity. I understand not wanting to spend a fortune, but think of the time you have invested when you decide to scimp $20-30 per man on the only part of the trip that will actually affect the memories of your trip. You'd do better to scimp on the hotel room or food, or all ride together.
