Zero - turn Mower
My 28" Snapper Rear Engine Rider I think has finally bit the dust.
I am looking at the Exmark Quest S Series mower in 42" -50"
I have a little yard but I ain't screwing around - so Im going to get something larger.
I would like something with a leaf vacuum system. the snapper worked great. my dad has a quest and that thing won't suck up anything.
any input ??

I bought a 48in deck John Deere about this time last year. I have been very happy with it. If I remember right is was $2800.
Not an Exmark but didn't come with the Price tag either.

All about being able to get it worked on or find parts. Go talk with David Frederick in Brandon. Yeah it may not be the cheapest to the nickle, but he and his staff have never failed to help me or my family when we needed something.

I purchased a Bad Boy 60" from the tractor store in Richland on 49. It is the commercial model and not the tractor supply model. I do not have the bagger but after two seasons, I am very pleased with it. Also, they have a parts and service dept on site.

have you looked at a yard sweeper. I use one on my yard, just due to the pine trees and oaks. Works great and allows me to haul it to back yard to burn. I dont think they would work well on a zero turn, but a regular lawn mower works great. They will pick up sticks if you run over them horizontal, and is not to wide.

I've seen these at TS and have been impressed with them. In general, all brands use the same hydro pump/motors, same deck pulleys, and various engines that is available to everyone. That said, the biggest differences between brands are deck construction and warranty coverage. A welded deck will last much longer than a stamped deck.

Go see Steven at Rankin Rental in Florence... He can get you an Exmark. Great customer service...Stick with an Exmark... You won't regret it. I have one for my lawncare service and won't have anything else.

Don't fall for the only Exmark hype. I've had my bad boy mower for 5 years now and a buddy bought an exmark the same time. He's had trouble out of his and all i've done is change the oil and blades and i cut a heck of a lot more grass than he cuts. Almost 10 acres every 2 weeks. I paid $7,000 for mine. It's got a Kw 31 HP engine and 60 inch cut. His was a 24 HP engine and 52" cut and his was over a thousand more than mine. Not worth the price

Got a 60" scag from Rankin Rentals and I like it. Steven is a friend and he is good to deal with. He will also find you a used one if you want it. Give him a call Jim. Some good 0% financing on scag last year. I would normally not finance something like a mower, but I did.
Re: Zero - turn Mower
If you have a Gravely dealer nearby, do yourself a favor and check them out. My 54 is built like a tank, very well engineered for maintenance and service, and has the same drive components as Exmark or Ferris. Less $, heavier quality build.

I sell and run Exmark, can't beat them in my opinion, but everyone will have their opinion one way or another. Check warranty time and coverage (some companies don't cover the entire machine, only deck parts, etc.). Feel free to call me if you've got any questions JD.

Get yourself a mulcher and you wont need a vaccuum, blade wear a little faster but the trade off is worth it
