Can somebody help me understand how Ole Miss keeps getting the top receivers? We haven't really had a great qb since eli, but freeze is still able to bring in really good receivers. If I were an elite WR, I would want to know an elite qb is on campus. I am glad we have these guys, but I just don't understand why they keep coming. Hopefully Freeze will learn how to recruit an elite qb one day.

often wonder myself. that being said, an "elite qb" is a crap shoot. we have 2 elite 11 qb's on roster currently, will they pan out? idk. randall mackey was number 1 qb when he signed with ole miss, as was shaffer. every year bama signs an "elite qb" and that doesn't translate. state's elite qb wasn't exactly "elite" coming through the ranks to state. my thoughts are it's easier to tab an elite defender than it is necessarily a skilled offensive player from highschool to college. No school is consistently having elite qb's on the field throughout time. just my thoughts... that being said, i feel like we are due for another consistent qb with as many of these that we've signed that have "flopped"

Bo Wallace won 24 games in 3 seasons and started every game for 3 seasons in the SEC West...that's good company as well last couple recruiting classes.

Chad Kelly is what he is...but aside from his reputation and all the personality flaws...he is and was an elite QB in terms of talent both at the HS and JUCO level. Devante Kincaide coming out of Dallas Skyline HS and entering his 3rd year was a Rivals 4 star and Elite 11 MVP as a HS senior, very highly recruited. Ryan Buchanon chose Ole Miss among offers from Alabama and Florida, decent offer sheet. Both guys enter as RS Soph...with Chad Kelly being a major HS recruit couple years ago and won the JUCO national championship with record setting numbers last season...that's your 3 guys on campus now.

We have Jason Pellerin committed this 2015 class (look him up, lot of elite possibility with him and quite a few notable offers in hand along with Ole Miss) and are arguably the team to beat for the #1 QB in the 2016 class, if not team to beat we are in the top 3 school on his list without any doubt.

Not sure I get your post...Ole miss is WAY WAY WAY better off at the QB position, and has been for last 2 maybe 3 years than a whole lot of it's brethren foes!

Camlock, after reading your post I am much more positive about our prospects. I guess I have been hung up on the fact that Ryan probably won't lead us, and Kincaid just doesn't seem like a pure qb. Hopefully we can keep Chad Kelly out of the Library and the police station and let him lead us to a big year.

I think Kincaide is a serious talent...we shall see...he's got better arm than anybody we've had since Eli and better feet than anybody since Masoli...if he gets the offense and gets D1 accuracy he will be the real deal. He's nothing but a QB, won't be a skill player

Ryan, I just don't know. I don't think he's gotten a fair shake by fans (he nor Devante)...they got a whole lot of nothing mop up behind a team built around Bo Wallace. What did we expect they would do? This coming year is only time I believe it's fair to judge what they are becoming, when they've been given attention in the program to display what they really are as complete players.

If Chad Kelly stays out of trouble and learns the system like a starter should, everything I've seen and read, he's got as much potential as any we've ever had.

If we somehow get Shea Patterson next year, he'll be the most complete QB prospect we have ever signed and the best QB in the country coming out 2016 class. I don't know if we get him, but we're in the game. Jason Pellerin has as much or more potential than Kincaide or Buchanon or any HS QB we've signed short of any named Manning is past 3 generations...and as a QB, he could become anything, at 6'4" and 210 with every measurable just raw talent, he could be 1st round pick one day.

all of that combined means........

good chance Ole Miss will have a quality guy taking snaps for foreseeable future. Moncrief success and a really good WR coach/recruiter along with Treadwell national attention last two years has built a sort of WR destination...good for us.

Get ready for wild 48-72 hrs. The $#!+ show will be in FULL effect...

Hopefully we don't end up loosing Drew Richmond to TN. Leo Lewis situation seems twisted, lots of weirdness surrounding the stories coming out of that...don't be surprised if he signs with MSU in the end. On a positive note for Ole Miss, things are trending more and more to CeCe Jefferson signing with Ole Miss.
