Nah, it may just work itself out. However, Webbie has a valid point about 1 loss conference champs as opposed to 1 loss non-conference winners.
eSJay, are you going to the auburn v Alabama games this year?

Re: Playoff committee question
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.
Re: Playoff committee question
Yea, this thing will look completely different from week to week, but its pretty cool to be one of the first four selected!
Red - negative on the iron bowl this year. I need space to move around for that game & I've found that that little high dollar seat in the stadium is just not big enough! That's one reason.

Re: Playoff committee question
Don't agree with Bama being behind Oregon. Bama lost to then number 3 on the road. Everyone forgets Bama also has a win against West Virginia who only has two losses and that is Bama and Oklahoma. Long ways to go before this is finalized. I personally am not crazy about this committe. I think they should use the BCS to pick top 4. That way if the 3 of the 4 best are in the SEC then so be it.
Re: Playoff committee question
I was surprised but I think the committee got it right at this point in the season. They also know that 4 of the 6 will beat each other and it will take care of itself. With Notre Dame 10th it looks to me like the committee has no bias at this point and are really looking at what each team has done to this point. Now come December 7th who knows.
My point with this post was the fact that if the committee put Ole Miss in front of Bama they could save face later in the year. If Ole Miss loses again then Bama moves up and everything is great. But if Bama was ahead of Ole Miss now and both won out, it would be hard explaining how they had the SEC champ and winner of head to head behind Bama. I really think the committee put some thought into these things.

I think you are right. While the nation may think this is SEC bias, the committee took everything available to them AT THIS POINT and said here is the top 4. I believe Bama should be the first one out. It does give us some hope that there could be 2 SEC teams in the playoff at the end of the season, but doubtful it can be 2 SEC West teams. Very possible a team from the west could lose to UGA in Atlanta and still get in I believe.NUTMEG wrote:I was surprised but I think the committee got it right at this point in the season. Only 1 now that Archie stepped down, but they leave their school caps at the door so to speak.leadsthebest wrote:How many of the committee is from the SEC?
For what it's worth, the sec guy is also the chairman.

Re: Playoff committee question
And he only has one vote. The committee is stacked with Pac 12, Big 10 and Big 12 ........ yet the SEC is still dominating. SEC will knock themselves out of the playoff except for one spot. Still have Aub vs OM, State vs Bama and OM, Aub vs Bama. Somebody will have 2-3 losses.
