Well, there are two other OM v LSU threads, but I figured I'd start another - what the heck.
I was at the game and it was one of the better atmospheres I have experienced in Tiger Stadium. The place was ready for a non-Alabama team for the first time in years. Even still, Ole Miss walked in and could have walked out with a victory. I applaud Hugh Freeze and his staff for keeping Ole Miss ready and in the game until the end.
I was pretty shocked to see LSU be able to move the ball like they did on what I still believe is one of the best defenses in the country. I would never have believed LSU would have over 400 yards of offense before the game. I also never would have believed they would have held OM to 7 points either.
Moving forward, LSU is off this week, then gets Alabama at home, then Arkansas and Texas A&M on the road. In all honesty, if LSU can win just one of those three games, I will consider the season a success under the circumstances. Alabama does not appear to be quite as good on the road as they are at home (see Arky and UT), but I still think it will be an upset if LSU beats them. I think LSU will likely split the Arkansas and Texas A&M games.
Ole Miss has Auburn this week at home. Ole Miss sustained some injuries to key players against LSU, including Robert Nkimdeche, Cody Prewitt and Tunsil. I have not heard if they will play Saturday. If they don't I think Ole Miss loses to Auburn.
Not to kick dirt on a man down, but I think it is a real possibility that Ole Miss loses two of their last three SEC games.
I never remember the SEC being this brutal. I stand by my prediction from a couple of weeks ago that Alabama wins the west. I think they beat LSU, State and Auburn. They will finish with the tie-break over MSU.
Great game, Rebels. It was an honor to be there for a classic.

Excellent post and a tremendous amount of class Deltamud77. I hope your right about BAMA, I guess we'll find out as each week goes by. Gonna be a tough one for everybody from here on out for sure!
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.

I agree but I think the west will come down to the State vs Ole Miss and Alabama and Auburn weekend. I feel Auburn puts Ole Miss out of it this weekend and state has to win one of the Alabama, Ole Miss games. Alabama losses one more before their last game because they have several tough games left and I don't think they are constant enough yet to run the table. I am a state fan so I am bias but I think all this really putts what State has done into perspective and you see why it has never been done before.

Well said Deltamud. As a Reb fan I was frustrated but looking back, LSU did what they had to do and we just didn't execute on some key plays. Lots of other factors, I think the TD's being called back was a backbreaker, but they won fair and square.
Now, I surely don't want to jinx what State has going on but I don't see anybody getting out of the West without one ding at least. As to who, it's whoever mans up on the right day.

I think LSU wins 2 of those 3 games unless they turnover the ball the way they did this weekend. I actually think A&M is the easiet of those games as they seem to have packed it in for the season.
