SBE 2, Browning Gold or Extrema???

Postby Law Duck » Thu Jan 13, 2005 3:57 pm

I have been shooting an SBE for 7 or 8 years and have been thinking about getting a new gun. First off I do like my SBE and have not had any real prblems with it. I like the way the Browning 3 &1/2 shoulders, but have heard a lot of bad stories about them jamming. The same goes for the Extrema. I have not heard a lot of anything about the SBE2.

I know that it is an OLD can of worms, but it seems that I have heard less griping about the newer Brownings than the older ones.

Wow, what a fresh topic! :D

I was told today that Beretta has discontinued the Xtrema, and will bring out the Xtrema II in 18 months or so after in-stock Xtrema I's are sold off. Shorter stock, lighter gun. Remains to be seen if this is true.

I have had my Browning 3 1/2" for 3 years and have never had a problem with it jamming. Knock on Wood!

If you like the browning you might want to look at the Winchester
Super x 2. It is pretty much the same gun at a couple of hundred dollars less.
I have shot one for 2 years and I love it.
I haven't heard of any major problems with them either.

Beretta claims they fixed it. I have not checked any of the new ones, but Webfoot's was purchased a year after mine and still had that sloppy booty creepy 12 pound trigger. Just add $60 bucks to the price for a trigger job and go on with life. :D
