Some Good News

Postby damnyankee » Tue Jan 01, 2002 9:19 pm

Ducks were pouring in at dark in NE AR., southwest of Jonesboro about 20 miles.
These were all new ducks to the area, the water that was still open was full of all big ducks. These are the first new ducks in weeks.
If the wheather holds true these ducks should stick around for a while as the thaw out is beginning.
Fired one shot today but it was just in anger.

Just got an Email from a guy hunting NE Ark as well. He said the same thing you saw. Mixed bag of big ducks starting to show up. Maybe things will pick up in the next couple days.

I'm not going to get excited, if these ducks do make it down here they are all going to go join those 10,000 on that little creek around Shelby MS we've all heard so much about. How's it going DamnYankee?

DD, Not too bad considering I haven't killed a duck since god knows when.
As for the daily report I couldn't go today but my buddies told me they had new ducks trickling in all day. Ducks are on the rivers, heard they're hurting them around Des Arc.

We squeaked out 3 mallards Ney Years Day. Didn't see over probably 25 birds all day. Hunted another place Sunday the 30th and never even got 1 single look from a duck. Saw probably 20-25 birds that day.

DY, we seen em thick on languille off 40, hunter area (byers), colt... Seen a ton in parkin, not a duck in earle or twist. Read a report on waterfowler, bout all the ducks tween 42 and 63, we got to 42 and headed back south... Seems like they got me surrounded, but so far, they dont want none. Gonna break some ice and cook some soup in the morning anyhow. travis
