Tankless Water Heater
Tankless Water Heater
thinking about installing in hunting camp RV instead of replacing old water heater...any experiences or advice?
Re: Tankless Water Heater
We had a York tankless in a house we used to live in. It was a piece of junk that stayed broke more than it worked. People highly recommend the Rinnai tankless heaters these days. Everyone i know who has a Rinnai is very satisfied with it.

I have had a Rinnai since the Katrina rebuild. And there is one at our camp. I have never had any problems at all.

I installed one for my mother 4 or 5 years ago and have not had a minutes trouble out of it. It was not a York, but I don't recall the brand.

+1 on Rinnai

We put this unit in our master bath when we redid the closet. It only supplies one bathroom and works fine. Hardest part was getting it wired in. Which wouldn't have been that hard if I knew what I was doing to begin with.

Re: Tankless Water Heater
Navian for entire house. Rinnai for separate zones.
Re: Tankless Water Heater
I would recommend a gas unit not electric if you want a whole house. You might be fine with a smaller electric unit for an RV.
Re: Tankless Water Heater
thx for the replies...
I really don't even care if it does the sinks...I just want hot water in the shower...I think one of these $200 units hooked up to the hot water line for the shower/bathtub would work for couple showers a week during hunting season???

Re: Tankless Water Heater
I just bought the rheem 4 GPM units for $175 off amazon to put in a shop where we clean deer and ducks and whatever else. Haven't installed it yet so can't speak for it. There were a lot of good reviews for it but there were some bad. It ought to be plenty for your use.
Re: Tankless Water Heater
Put a Rinnai on the house after we moved back from evacuating for the 2011 flood. Absolutely love it. no problems at all and even use outside conections when washing cars or power washing house. Hot water makes all the difference in the world. If I ever move to another home will definitely have one installed as 1 of the first things I would do!!!
