Is DU really feeding the birds up north?

ALRIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

It makes sense that DU and PETA are political partners. DU wants more money from the federal gov and wants to take it from the farmers subsities. PETA wants us to stop slaughtering and eating animal. So, if we cant grow pigs, chicken, and cows to eat why do we need farmers to raise them and the grain it takes to feed them. hell everbody will be happy. DU gets more money and PETA puts a stop to animal production and the consuption of meat as well as a stop to hunting. all you DU supporters need to pull your head out of your ass and realize that du is a conservation organisation and not a hunters organisation. hell i wonder how many of the du higherarchie even hunt. they dont give a damn if we ever kill a duck in Mississippi. How many du presidents how been from southern hunting states. i dont know but my guess would be 0.

As far as the feeding i dont think that is true. DU as an organisation may not be feeding them put individuals who happen to be du supporters may. I dont belive that but it is a posibility. the things that have happened is that there i a lot of habitat development north of AK. and TN. DU has been passing out pipe after pipe for flood control up there. this has created a lot more places for the ducks to stop and if you had food in front of you, you wouldnt walk across the street to eat so why should the ducks.

Ultimately it comes down to 3 things.

1) WEATHER If that doesnt change nothing else matters
2) to many people hunting, to much water for the ducks to sit on. If you take a trip around the delta there are ducks. Just to many places to go. Get some of these weekend hunts out of the game and let the real duck hunters hunt and it will be better.
3) Electronic devices. If you eliminate those things the kill rates will drop and some of these folks that dont know how to kill a duck without them will leave the game, and the duck population will rise.

Forgive my spelling it is horrible.

I'm sorry, but that just may be the dumbest post I've seen on this board in quite a while. I think your brain has already gone to bed.

Delta Waterfowl would never feed those yankee ducks. DU had lost touch with what really matters.

I would like Chad to coment more on the no till practices that have recently been legally allowed the last five years in the northern grain states and there effect on the migration. Are there any studies on this and if so could you please post them. If this is affecting the migration then DU should step up and lobby against it. They should point out that it is affecting the natural migration and in escence allowing hunting over baited land. What is DU's position on this Chad?

DU's position is simple: Keep buying land, ignore everything else, and let the chips fall where they may. :D

First let me say this, I am no longer a member of DU. But me changing my membership to DW had nothing to do with PETA or feeding ducks up north.

Do you guys honestly believe that DU would align itself with such an organization. Come on. First of all any alliance of these two organizations would have leaked out to the news media by know. Second of all the two could never agree on doing what you guys are suggesting. What started as an internet rumor by someone who had a grudge against DU has turned into a full campaign against DU.

I just can't believe its true. We are just in a down cycle on ducks. There will be more ducks around these last couple weeks just waiting and see. If we really want to be ticked off at an organization it should be the federal government. The Feds continue to take a land and turn it into a refuge. Thats is where the ducks are. Do you blame them? The Feds are the ones trying to please everybody. They are in bed with the whole bunch - DU, Peta, DW, NRA, and others. They try to please everybody, but still piss everybody off.

If we, the duck hunters, had an organization that looked after not just the ducks but the duck hunters like they should we wouldn't have this problem. We could have a heck of a lobbying base and should. Who does DU and DW get there money from? US, and they should be using it more to protect us, than just purchase land and restoring wetlands.

We got to stop fighting among ourselves and fight back.
