Rich, Mississippi

Postby Bullreds & Greenheads » Tue Jan 11, 2005 9:43 pm

I might have access to some old family land east of Rich, Mississippi. I haven't been there but a couple of times since I was ten years old, so I don't know how "ducky" this area is.

I last saw the place in the summer of 2003. The property has a wooded slew through it, but most of the property has been used for beans/cotton.

For any of you guys that know the general area, would it be worth my while to try to manage the property for ducks?

By the way, post number 50! :D

Hey Boy,

Send me a map and signed permission to hunt your land. I will make the 8 hour trip to try out your duck hole. After I bag the limit in 30 minutes, I'll try my hand at those large bucks scraping the wood line.

I have always had good luck duck and deer hunting around the Moon Lake area. Have a couple of good spots on the Yazoo Pass and the Cold Water River. How is the turkey hunting on your land. The areas that I mentioned have exceptional turkey hunting.

Do not forget to send me the signed permission. I will not charge you for the consultant work and written assessment.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Going to have to go up there soon and take a look around while its still winter.

Hambone, I'll give you a call soon. Been working weird hours lately.

And Snake, the last thing we need is for some hillbilly out-of-state trash to come down here and kill our ducks and deer. Two questions: where the hell is Murphy, and how many teeth do you have?

Dear Redbull and Headgreen,

Murphy, NC is located in Western North Carolina in between the Blue Ridge and Smokey Mountains. Murphy is in Cherokee County. Please feel free to view the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce web site on any search engine. Make sure you go the one for North Carolina. Please pay close attention to the Demographics! Murphy is a small town with about 1200-1500 residents. Cherokee county has about 28,000 to 30,000 residents. Murphy is surrounded with about 92,000 acres of US forest service land that is full of Wild Russia Boar, Bear and Turkeys. We have good trout, Large and Small mouth Bass, Walleye, lake trout and a host of other game fish. Yes, I have all my teeth! I do not think of myself as an outsider. I was born and raised in Mississippi. My first-born was born in Mississippi. In our public schools, we still have devotions, say the Pledge of Allegiance and get corporal punishment. Come visit you will not want to leave. What are you and Ole Miss Grad?
