There was a TV repair shop near Lake Harbor and Old Canton intersection (west side of Old Canton behind Tony's Tamales). I think kb7722 used them once a few years ago. I can't comment any further on the quality of their work and if they are still open.

Probably one of the back lights out. Had that problem on a Samsung and they sent an entirely new screen and tech to replace it. Assuming it's not under warranty not sure how you procure a new screen. It was super easy to swap out. Not much to the tvs these days. Tech tore mine down, replaced screen, and reassembled in about 10 minutes.

Yeah I had the Best Buy protection plan. Unfortunately I can't remember who the tech worked for. It was a local contractor I do know that. yeah I'm not much help.
