Re: Mississippi is ready for some change
Pork is a big problem in DC. We need senators in there that are for making the best financial decisions for our country. Pork, pork, and more pork is not the answer. That shiznit needs to be phased.
I keep here hearing about all these scandals McDaniel is involved in. Was he ever proven to have ordered the pictures taken or was that the MS PAC repeating it over and over trying to make it true? What other scandal was there? The only negative aside from the photo deal was all of the hate mail from the Thad campaign I kept getting in the mail. It made me sick to see it EVERY SINGLE DAY for a week leading up to the election. Are the "scandals" of the McDaniel campaign real or just the PAC saying them over and over until everyone believes they have to be real???

Problem is Thad is too old an senile. He's being propped up by Haley Barbour so he can inherit Thad's seat (if Thad wins).booger wrote:But to dump Thad now, on the cusp of being Chairman, is a big mistake for our state, IMO.:
This is all a game set up by Haley Barbour and the lobbyist in DC. They want another puppet.
I saw a quote from McDaniel today that says all I need to hear.
"If Thad Cochran had fought President Obama the way he's fighting me, I wouldn't have been compelled to run."
Guys it's time to have someone speak up for Ms. Thad hasn't done it in years and won't because his mind is gone. He won't even publicly speak anymore.
His handlers are propping him up. Open your eyes. And do any of you actually think that McDaniel won't bring home money for infrastructure? Come on
guys use your noggins for something besides a hat rack......

Haley's at it again.

Anybody with eyes can see this has nothing to do with Thad Cochran. This race is against the DC lobbyist & pardoner in chief Haley Barbour vs State Senator McDaniel.

I believe it is Greg Harper they are wanting to take his seat from what I have heard. Still not the way to do it, but it makes sense as much as Greg has been in his campaign.

Exactly JD..
if other staes see what MS and Kentucky and Texas and etc...etc... are doing they may follow suite. No matter what, things HAVE GOT TO CHANGE in Washington..be it for the better or worse, but change no doubt. The only way to make a change is to do soemthing different, then evaluate whether it was a good change or not, but we absolutely can not sustain the path we are on as a nation..I am standing firm wiht what I said earlier and with what ScottBrown said..vote out the establishment GOP and roll in some new younger guys...even if they are rookie junior's...Thad was a Rookie junior once too.
Also, I am skeptical of Thad's mental capacity..I don't think he can handle it anymore..Alzhimer, demntia, who knows, but you sure don't see him out addressing the crowds or hear him on radio shows or tv interviews..or anything.
Reckon why that is booger?

Question for you politicos:
It is widely speculated (if not accepted) that if Thad does win, and the GOP takes back the Senate his seniority will make him the chair of the Appropriations Committee - that said and understood...everyone knows he will not fulfill his term and that Phil Bryant will appoint his successor (likely Greg Harper)...
the question - would Greg Harper also inherit Thad's "seniority" and assume Thad's position as Chair of Appropriations?

Nope. Exactly what every knuckle head that's pulling for Thad fails to comprehend.

Will they reassign the appropriations chaimman once he passes the torch?
Re: Mississippi is ready for some change
Yes! It will be reassigned to a ranking senator.deltadukman wrote:Will they reassign the appropriations chaimman once he passes the torch?
FYI, Senator McDaniel just got the endorsement of Ron Paul along with many other libertarian / constitutional minded people.

Maybe he can appropriate some duck holes over that way so they dont have to travel so far to flock up ours. #Max4HDinthetimber

this is what has made the biggest impact on making the second vote a much easier decision than the first was for me...especially sending his "replacement" to the podium post-election.420 racin wrote:... but you sure don't see him out addressing the crowds or hear him on radio shows or tv interviews..or anything.

Re: Mississippi is ready for some change
People for Thad get me....All yall want to talk about is what he can "DO" for you if he gets reelected but they seem to forget all that he has "DONE" to you in the past.
I’m sorry guys but actions and history speak louder than promises and words in my book.
My quote from the last topic still holds merit
"Would you recommend a plumber who, let’s say, stopped your toilet from leaking but also took a dump in your living room floor. I would think not but it’s the same principle."

growing up working on a small (< 2k acres) family row crop/catfish farm, i know what he has done for the ms farming community over the years...and i won't forget that.jwayne wrote:People for Thad get me....All yall want to talk about is what he can "DO" for you if he gets reelected but they seem to forget all that he has "DONE" to you in the past..

Re: Mississippi is ready for some change
By now it should be obvious that Thad (or anyone who has been in DC that long) either 1.) can't fix the problem or 2.) is part of the problem.
While he may have done alot for the farming community by bringing "Pork" into the state, in the long run it doesn't address any underlying problems...we, as a nation, are spending too much money and that "Pork" that he brings here is part of the reason the debt clock is spinning like a windmill in a hurricane.... At somepoint everyone is going to have to shave some fat, even the farming community..but in all fairness I think it needs to be shed form the entitlement community first.
