Re: Garden's
I've had broccoli in since March. Planted peppers and squash last weekend. Plan on planting maters and okra this weekend.
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.

What do y'all do when starting your maters? Mine have under performed these last few years and I'd love a trick or two that really works.

Got 4 rows of Corn in the big garden, along with Cucumbers there too. Still have 10 rows left to plant in the big garden, four of which will be Okra. I got Beets, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Bush Lima Bean, Cauliflower, Cabbage planted in my four raised beds. Bought lumber yesterday to build two more raised beds. Still have more Cucumbers and Tomatoes to plants to plant. Have some Garden Bean, Watermelon, and Cataloupe to be planted.
Then comes Fall planting time after all that grows.

Did a lasagna garden last year and had great success especially with tomatoes.RedEyed Duck wrote:What do y'all do when starting your maters? Mine have under performed these last few years and I'd love a trick or two that really works.
Built a 5x12 wooden garden, dig up top soil, later the bottom with old newspaper and cardboard (sounds crazy but the worms eat the paper and turns the ground into the most fertile soil you could hope for), cover with pine straw, then cover top soil and plant.
Then enjoy ripe tomatoes and whatever else you plant all season long.

Here you go. There are four new beds along the fence. There are two 4x10 beds that are screwed together along the fence by the duck coop. Plans are to build two more to have a row of six along the fence. Then I may mirror and build six more with a 4ft walkway down the center.iron grip wrote:Like to see pics of your raised beds if you can MudHog... I'm building 4ft x 12ft beds, but blocking off a 4ft x 2ft area in the front that I plant two roses per box. This gives me 4ft x 10ft garden space.
